Meanwhile Pablo Escobar rules Colombia, the Colombian soccer team is doing very well. They won almost every game with as icing on the cake a 5-0 victory over Argentina. When Colombia qualified for the 1994 World Cup football-legend Pele said that Colombia was his favorite for winning the cup. This statement caused a lot of pressure on the Colombian team. Before the game started the players were all in the hotel when a video started playing on the tv-screen. In the video was a message: There will be bad consequences if Gabriel Gomez plays. All the players received death threats, so the police protected their families. The game started, minute 34: Andres Escobar shoots the ball in his own goal. The Colombian team won't get over it, they lose. 

When Andres Escobar came back in Colombia, he wanted to just live his normal life. He went to a nightclub with a friend. When they were on the parking lot a stranger began shouting to Andres: 'Thanks for the own goal!' Andres stepped in his car and the stranger shot several times on Andres Escobar and said with every shot ´goal!´ Later it turned that the murder was an order from a cartel-boss that had lost a lot of money, because of Escobars own goal.
